A Class of Locally Nilpotent Commutative Algebras

This paper deals with the variety of commutative nonassociative algebras satisfying the identity Lx + γLx3 = 0, γ ∈ K. In [2] it is proved that if γ = 0, 1 then any finitely generated algebra is nilpotent. Here we generalize this result by proving that if γ 6= −1, then any such algebra is locally nilpotent. Our results require characteristic 6= 2, 3.

On the power-commutative kernel of locally nilpotent groups

A group G is called power commutative, or a PC-group, if [xm, yn] = 1 implies [x, y] = 1 for all x, y ∈G such that xm = 1, yn = 1. So power-commutative groups are those groups in which commutativity of nontrivial powers of two elements implies commutativity of the two elements. Clearly, G is a PC-group if and only if CG(x) = CG(x) for all x ∈ G and all integers n such that xn = 1. Obvious examp...

The sum-annihilating essential ideal graph of a commutative ring

Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity. An ideal $I$ of a ring $R$is called an annihilating ideal if there exists $rin Rsetminus {0}$ such that $Ir=(0)$ and an ideal $I$ of$R$ is called an essential ideal if $I$ has non-zero intersectionwith every other non-zero ideal of $R$. Thesum-annihilating essential ideal graph of $R$, denoted by $mathcal{AE}_R$, isa graph whose vertex set is the set...

Non-commutative reduction rings

Reduction relations are means to express congruences on rings. In the special case of congruences induced by ideals in commutative polynomial rings, the powerful tool of Gröbner bases can be characterized by properties of reduction relations associated with ideal bases. Hence, reduction rings can be seen as rings with reduction relations associated to subsets of the ring such that every finitel...

On quasi-zero divisor graphs of non-commutative rings

Let $R$ be an associative ring with identity. A ring $R$ is called reversible if $ab=0$, then $ba=0$ for $a,bin R$. The quasi-zero-divisor graph of $R$, denoted by $Gamma^*(R)$ is an undirected graph with all nonzero zero-divisors of $R$ as vertex set and two distinct vertices $x$ and $y$ are adjacent if and only if there exists $0neq rin R setminus (mathrm{ann}(x) cup mathrm{ann}(y))$ such tha...
